Stopwatch

00:00.00

No laps recorded

Press "Lap" while the stopwatch runs to record a split.

Time stays accurate in a background tab. The alarm needs one click on the page before it can sound.

Phone timers get lost behind other apps, and kitchen timers are never where you are. This runs in a tab, keeps accurate time in the background, and records laps when you need to split a session.

How to use

  1. 1 Choose stopwatch or countdown.
  2. 2 For a countdown, set the time or use a preset.
  3. 3 Press start.
  4. 4 While the stopwatch runs, press "Lap" to record a split.

Frequently asked questions

Does it keep time if I switch tabs?

Yes. Elapsed time is computed from timestamps rather than counted by a ticking interval, so background throttling does not affect it. The display catches up when you return.

Why did the alarm not sound?

Browsers block audio until you have interacted with the page. Clicking start counts, so an alarm you set yourself will sound — but one left over from a page reload may not.

What is the 25-minute preset for?

The Pomodoro technique — 25 minutes of focused work followed by a five-minute break. The presets cover the common intervals so you do not have to type them.
