Frequently asked questions
Does cropping lose quality?
No. Cropping copies the selected pixels exactly as they are — there is no resampling. The file gets smaller only because there are fewer pixels.
Which ratio should I use?
1:1 for profile pictures and most social posts, 16:9 for video thumbnails and presentation slides, 4:3 for older displays and print, 9:16 for phone-first vertical formats.
Can I crop several images at once?
Not here — the whole point is choosing the region by eye, which differs per image. For batch work where every image gets the same treatment, use the Image Resizer.
