Text to Speech
Have your text read aloud
Input

Options
Only voices installed on your device are listed, grouped by language.
Playback
Ready
Uses the voices installed on your device, so in most cases your text is never transmitted.
Hearing a draft read back catches awkward sentences that reading silently does not. Paste your text, pick a voice and press play. The voices come from your own operating system, so nothing needs to be uploaded.
How to use
- 1 Type or paste the text you want read aloud.
- 2 Pick a voice — the list shows what is installed on your device, grouped by language.
- 3 Adjust the rate, pitch and volume to taste.
- 4 Press play. You can pause and resume at any point.
Frequently asked questions
Why do I see so few voices?
The list comes from your operating system, not from us. Windows, macOS, iOS and Android each ship a different set, and you can usually install more from the system settings. Chrome also offers additional network voices.
Is my text sent to a server?
It depends on the voice. Voices installed on your device synthesise locally and nothing leaves the machine. A few browsers offer cloud voices, which do send the text to the vendor — those are labelled by the browser.
Can I download the audio as a file?
Not from this tool. The Web Speech API plays audio directly and does not expose it as a downloadable stream. Use the Screen Recorder if you need to capture it.
